By Gifted, For Gifted

A worlds-first series of summer programs designed by gifted kids, for gifted kids. 2024 was a smashing success!

Custom built to help your student

Here at edRev, we understand that the gifted mind runs wild and can want to learn more about anything under the sun (and in the deep sea) (and outer space) (and anywhere). We understand the word "hyperfixation" and believe in helping gifted kids find their truest peers in whatever way we can. We know about their strong passion projects and want to support them in changing the world.

Our one-on-one "Tutoring in Anything," our "Achieve it" program, our classes and our clubs are all built around your student and what they want to do. We're happy to have students or families reach out with an idea they would love to see. More often than not, we have someone in our vast gifted mentor network who can make it happen.

What makes us different?

Huge Emphasis on Student Community

We run many activities, including a Competitive Math Club, D&D Club, Art Nights, Quizbowl, Game Nights, etc. Feel free to show interest and make suggestions! We'll try to create what there is interest for.

Our virtual education is different from others.

Many peoples’ experience with online learning is shaped by the fiasco that was the school system during Covid. Underprepared teachers tried to replicate the in person classes in a virtual environment, creating classes roughly as effective and interactive as recorded lectures.

Our lessons and activities, on the other hand, utilize the features of online education to allow for engagement far beyond that found in traditional classrooms. Online platforms allow for students to collaborate on a shared virtual whiteboard simultaneously to ensure that all voices are heard. Integrating multimedia explorations of ideas is also far easier on online platforms, giving students a deeper and more complex understanding of topics than is possible in person. Further, students who need to doodle to focus can do so in designated areas, making it easy for them to continue to follow along with the lesson. The virtual space that we use also allows students the opportunity to log-on with friends outside of scheduled classes and activities to hang out or play games, within our community of gifted students.

The schedule of our programs builds in frequent and long breaks and encourages students to get outside. Many parents have noted that their child went outside more often during our programs than they would otherwise.

Why socialization?

Socialization is often challenging for gifted children. Their interests and expectations for friendship often differ substantially from that of most students their age, making it incredibly difficult to make friends.
Our programs are among the only in the world with offerings specifically designed to allow your gifted child the opportunity to meet others like them, true peers. Our brand new virtual space has a number of features available nowhere else: it allows students the chance to connect outside of scheduled activities.
Socialization offerings include longtime favorites: Puzzle Hunts, D&D, Board Games, and Party Games in addition to newer activities: Pathfinder and Avalon.
These activities, facilitated by experienced gifted educators, help students develop the valuable social skills that they so often miss out on in traditional schools where they are isolated from true peers.

Our pricing philosophy.

So often, despite the incredible potential of gifted students at very young ages, they are unable to apply their talents because much of the world is built around neurotypical people. It can be incredibly frustrating as a gifted student to see all of the problems that we face and the difference you could make if given the opportunity, and to be unable to do anything about it. edRev gives these students the opportunity to make a real impact by creating the type of program that they would want to see under the mentorship of experienced gifted educators. In the process they build the executive functioning skills gifted students rarely get the chance to build in traditional schools and the prerequisite experience to continue to do the incredible things that they’re capable of. This mentorship program allows us to keep the cost of our programs low, while ensuring that those who help design our program are adequately compensated for their contribution.

I founded edRev to help these kids as much as possible. If cost is at all a barrier for your child accessing our resources, I welcome you to email me directly at matt@edrev.co
